Update — 14 September 2026: Changi Airport has confirmed Nailoong’s Joyful Journey for 22 September–21 October 2026 across the transit areas of Terminals 1–4. The campaign includes themed installations, mascot appearances, shopping rewards and a Changi-exclusive plush keychain blind box. The key purchasing rule is easy to miss: the blind box is not a free S$60-spend gift. After a qualifying minimum spend of S$60 in one receipt, eligible passengers may buy one blind box for S$14.90, while stocks last.

If you are flying through Changi during the next month, this is one of those airport promotions that is worth understanding before you start shopping. The installations and character appearances are spread across the secure transit side of the airport, while the collectible has a specific spend-and-purchase mechanic. That means a passenger who sees a Nailoong display should not assume every part of the campaign is free or available without a boarding pass.

Changi’s official campaign page says arriving and departing passengers with a valid boarding pass can participate, provided they meet the qualifying purchase rules. The campaign also offers an iShopChangi route for eligible online purchases. Stock can vary by redemption location, and all five plush designs are distributed randomly.

The short version: Nailoong’s Joyful Journey runs 22 September–21 October in Changi’s T1–T4 transit areas. Spend at least S$60 in a single receipt at participating transit outlets, or meet the relevant iShopChangi qualifying spend, and you may buy one Changi-exclusive Nailoong Plush Keychain Blind Box for S$14.90. There are five designs. The Peranakan Nailoong is available only from the Terminal 4 redemption booth, but it is still part of a random blind-box pool — you are not guaranteed to receive it.

01 · What is Nailoong’s Joyful Journey at Changi?

Changi is turning Nailoong into a month-long “Happiness Buddy” across its transit terminals. The official promotion describes themed installations, exclusive plush collectibles, mascot appearances and shopping rewards from Terminal 1 through Terminal 4.

The main in-airport campaign dates are 22 September to 21 October 2026. Changi’s page also promotes a separate Chinese-language digital task programme with a wider online window, but ordinary travellers planning a physical airport visit should use the 22 September–21 October dates for the terminal campaign.

There is no single public-landside “Nailoong venue” to walk into. The core promotion is specifically described as being in the transit areas. If you are meeting someone at Changi without flying, or visiting Jewel from the public side, do not assume you can access the transit installations. Changi’s normal rules require a valid boarding pass and immigration/security access for the secure airside zones.

02 · The S$60 + S$14.90 blind-box rule, explained

The headline collectible is the Changi Exclusive Nailoong Plush Keychain Blind Box. Five limited designs are listed: Explorer, Foodie, Shopaholic, Vacay and Peranakan Nailoong.

To qualify at the airport, Changi says you need a minimum S$60 spend in a single receipt at participating outlets in the transit areas of Terminals 1–4. Multiple smaller receipts cannot be combined to reach the threshold. An eligible iShopChangi purchase can also qualify under the campaign’s online route.

Once the qualifying spend requirement is met, you can purchase one blind box for S$14.90. The limit is one plush blind box per qualifying receipt, and supply is explicitly stated to be while stocks last. In other words, spending S$60 earns the right to buy the S$14.90 collectible; it does not automatically make the collectible free.

The blind boxes are sealed and random. Changi says customers cannot choose a design, and there is no guarantee of receiving any particular character. Once issued or purchased, the blind box cannot be exchanged, returned, refunded or swapped for a different design.

03 · Where to redeem it in Terminals 1–4

Changi lists four Nailoong-themed redemption booths, one in each terminal’s transit area. The published operating hours are 10am–10pm daily during the campaign:

  • Terminal 1: after immigration, near the Lotte Duty Free central store.
  • Terminal 2: beside Dreamscape and Discover Singapore.
  • Terminal 3: in front of Pret A Manger.
  • Terminal 4: in front of adidas Originals.

If you are chasing the Peranakan Nailoong, Terminal 4 matters. Changi says this particular design is available only from the T4 redemption booth. But “available only at T4” does not mean “guaranteed at T4”: it remains a randomly distributed blind-box design, and stock at each location can change.

For anyone with a short connection, your departure gate should come first. Changi’s transit network makes movement between terminals possible, but Terminal 4 requires a shuttle rather than a simple walk from T1–T3. Do not cross the airport purely for a random collectible unless your connection time comfortably allows it.

04 · Who can participate?

Changi’s FAQ says the campaign is open to arriving and departing passengers with a valid boarding pass. To qualify for the blind-box purchase, the traveller then needs the required single-receipt spend at participating T1–T4 transit outlets, or the applicable qualifying spend through iShopChangi during the promotion period.

That makes this fundamentally an airside passenger promotion rather than a general public shopping event. If you are not flying, the safer assumption is that you will not be able to enter the transit areas simply to visit the campaign.

Participating outlets are listed through Changi’s official campaign material. Because retailer participation and stock can change, check the live Changi page on your travel day rather than relying on a screenshot or an old social post.

05 · Mascot appearances and free things to look for

Changi also promises special Nailoong mascot appearances across the transit areas of Terminals 1–4 during the campaign period. At the time of this update, the main campaign page promotes the appearances but does not give us a simple, fixed daily timetable that we would be comfortable presenting as guaranteed. If a meet-and-greet matters to you, recheck Changi’s live event page close to your flight.

Terminal 4 gets an extra activity: Changi promotes a free Passport Trail / Stamp Quest with a brochure, exclusive offers and a chance to take home a Peranakan Shophouse reusable-bag plush keychain. Treat that as a separate T4 activity from the S$14.90 Nailoong blind-box purchase, and check the current on-site terms and stock before assuming a particular reward is available.

The installations themselves are also part of the experience. You do not need to buy a plush keychain simply because you encounter one of the themed areas. If your interest is mostly photos and a bit of airport novelty, enjoy the display and keep your wallet closed.

06 · Practical traveller planning

  • Campaign: Nailoong’s Joyful Journey at Changi.
  • Dates: 22 September–21 October 2026.
  • Where: transit areas of Changi Airport Terminals 1–4.
  • Redemption booth hours: 10am–10pm daily.
  • Qualifying spend: S$60 minimum in one receipt at participating transit outlets, or the applicable iShopChangi route.
  • Blind-box price after qualifying: S$14.90.
  • Purchase limit: one blind box per qualifying receipt, while stocks last.
  • Designs: Explorer, Foodie, Shopaholic, Vacay and Peranakan.
  • Peranakan design: T4 redemption booth only, but still random and not guaranteed.
  • Access: designed for arriving/departing passengers with valid boarding passes.

If you are departing Singapore, allow enough time after immigration to find the booth without turning a collectible hunt into a gate sprint. If you are connecting, first confirm which terminal your onward flight uses. T1–T3 are linked by Changi’s transit transport network; T4 connections use shuttle buses and take extra time.

One date-specific wrinkle: Changi separately advises that the T1–T3 Skytrain will close earlier overnight from 12am to 5am on 22 September 2026 for upgrading works. The Nailoong redemption booths open at 10am, so this mainly matters to passengers making an overnight or very early-morning terminal transfer on the campaign’s opening date.

07 · What we are deliberately not claiming

We have not found a promise that every terminal will have every plush design in stock for the full campaign. We are not calling the S$14.90 blind box a “free gift,” because Changi’s own rules require the qualifying spend and then a separate purchase. We are also not promising a specific mascot appearance time or a guaranteed Peranakan Nailoong.

Blind-box stock is stated to be limited, availability can differ by redemption location, and the design is random. If you are buying items solely to qualify, decide whether the total spend still makes sense if your preferred plush is unavailable. The campaign should be a bonus to a journey you are already making, not a reason to risk missing a flight.

08 · Source and verification

Our primary source is Changi Airport’s official Nailoong’s Joyful Journey campaign page. It confirms the 22 September–21 October dates, T1–T4 transit locations, five plush designs, S$60 single-receipt threshold, S$14.90 blind-box price, booth locations and hours, random allocation rules, valid-boarding-pass eligibility, stock caveats and T4 Peranakan exclusivity.

For terminal-transfer context we also checked Changi Airport’s official terminal-transfer guidance, including the special 22 September overnight Skytrain closure and the fact that Terminal 4 transit connections rely on shuttle buses.

TATS News Team

We checked Changi Airport’s live campaign rules and separated the qualifying S$60 spend from the separate S$14.90 blind-box purchase. We have not invented mascot times, guaranteed stock or a guaranteed Peranakan design.
