Festival of Thrills is broader than Halloween Horror Nights. The programme links family-friendly daytime Halloween at Universal Studios Singapore, glowing marine programming at Singapore Oceanarium, an app-guided quest at Adventure Cove Waterpark, shopping and dining rewards at WEAVE, hotel packages and the late-night HHN14 season.
That breadth is also the trap. “Festival of Thrills” does not mean buying one pass unlocks every attraction, event, dining offer and reward. Your best plan is to choose the part of the resort you actually want to visit, then check that venue’s current admission and promotion rules before paying.
01 · What Festival of Thrills actually is
RWS describes Festival of Thrills as a resort-wide season running from 1 September to 1 November 2026. It spans Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark, WEAVE, hotels, restaurants and selected nightlife or dining packages.
For visitors, it is better understood as a calendar that groups several separate experiences under one seasonal banner. You can build a family daytime visit, a waterpark day, an aquarium-focused indoor plan, a shopping-and-dining stop or a later horror-night outing without needing to do all of them.
RWS is also running a resort-wide sure-win scratch-card campaign during the festival. The official FAQ says eligible purchases at participating outlets can receive one scratch card per transaction or receipt, with no minimum spend required for the basic scratch-card mechanic. Other specific rewards have their own spend thresholds and redemption rules, so read the live terms rather than assuming every promotion works the same way.
02 · Universal Studios by day: Trick or Thrills
Trick or Thrills runs at Universal Studios Singapore from 1 September to 1 November 2026. RWS describes it as family-friendly Halloween programming, with the Belloween Ball, character encounters, candy, seasonal photo moments and a Minion Land pumpkin-patch treatment.
The important ticket distinction is that RWS says these daytime activities are included in regular Universal Studios Singapore park admission. They are not the same event as Halloween Horror Nights.
If you are travelling with younger children, this is the lower-intensity Halloween choice. It lets you get the seasonal atmosphere while using a normal daytime park visit, rather than keeping children out for a late-night horror event that RWS recommends for older guests.
03 · Halloween Horror Nights 14 starts 25 September
Halloween Horror Nights 14 runs on selected nights from 25 September to 1 November 2026, from 7:30pm to 12:30am. The official programme lists four haunted houses, two scare zones and three shows.
HHN14 is a separate ticketed event. Do not assume a normal Universal Studios daytime ticket or another Festival of Thrills attraction ticket automatically includes it. RWS also recommends HHN for guests aged 13 and above.
Totally Singapore already has a dedicated HHN14 visitor guide covering the event dates, current ticket information and late-night transport planning. If HHN is the main reason you are going to Sentosa, use that guide rather than trying to treat the whole Festival of Thrills calendar as one itinerary.
04 · Singapore Oceanarium: Into the Glowcean
Into the Glowcean runs at Singapore Oceanarium from 5 September to 1 November 2026. One of the most durable parts of the programme is Oceanic Glow, a trail of luminous marine-life sculptures available from 10am to 8pm.
RWS also lists a Skeleton Dive Feed at 4pm daily except Mondays and Fridays. Some school-holiday craft or add-on activities had shorter September-only windows, so do not copy an early-September activity list and assume every workshop continues until November.
This is the sensible indoor option when Singapore’s afternoon heat or rain makes a long outdoor plan less attractive. Ticket products and promotional eligibility can vary, so check the Oceanarium’s current booking page for your date instead of treating the festival umbrella as admission.
05 · Adventure Cove: Legend Keepers
At Adventure Cove Waterpark, Legend Keepers: Tales of Singapore Awaken runs daily from 1 September to 1 November, 10am–5pm. RWS describes it as an app-guided quest through five locations inspired by Singapore stories and legends.
The official RWS September guide says Legend Keepers is included with every Adventure Cove Waterpark One-Day Ticket. That makes it an add-on to a normal waterpark day rather than a separate horror-night purchase.
As always with a waterpark, weather and operating conditions can affect rides or outdoor activities. Keep the live operating notice in the plan, especially if the quest is only one part of a day built around slides and pools.
06 · WEAVE rewards, shopping and race-season extras
WEAVE is the public-facing shopping and dining part of the festival. RWS’s Festival of Thrills promotion runs 1 September–1 November and includes scratch-card rewards plus separate spend-and-redeem offers.
Current RWS terms say the basic sure-win scratch card can be earned with an eligible transaction at participating outlets, with no minimum spend for that basic scratch-card mechanic. Separate rewards do have thresholds: for example, the Frightly Photobooth promotion lists a minimum S$80 single-receipt spend, while other merchandise rewards have their own higher requirements.
Race-season activities are also appearing at WEAVE during the broader festival period. RWS lists a Lenovo gaming zone with racing simulators from 11 September to 11 October and a full-size racing-car display from 13 September to 12 October. These are useful if you want a free or lower-commitment stop between paid attractions, but dates and activation details should be checked before travelling solely for one display.
07 · How I would plan a Festival of Thrills day
- Family Halloween day: use regular Universal Studios admission for Trick or Thrills, then finish with dinner at WEAVE.
- Indoor-first day: build around Singapore Oceanarium and Into the Glowcean, especially if the weather is poor.
- Waterpark day: use Adventure Cove admission and treat Legend Keepers as part of the day rather than a separate destination.
- HHN night: keep the late-night event as its own plan, with separate admission and transport home considered before you arrive.
- Low-commitment visit: explore WEAVE’s public areas, current displays and eligible promotions without assuming every attraction is free.
Before paying, check the exact ticket product for the attraction you want. RWS also sells multi-attraction passes and hotel bundles, but whether those save money depends on your dates, the number of attractions you genuinely plan to use and the package terms.
Do not force every festival activity into one day. Sentosa is compact, but attraction entry, queues, meals and late-night events add up. A focused two-stop plan is usually more enjoyable than treating Festival of Thrills like a checklist.
08 · What can change before your visit
Ticket inventory, operating hours, attraction availability, promotional stock, reward eligibility and event dates can change. RWS’s current pages are the source of truth for your visit date.
Some early-September school-holiday workshops have already ended even though the umbrella festival continues to 1 November. HHN14 has not started yet as of this update; its first selected night is 25 September. Specific restaurant or hotel bundles may also have their own booking periods, minimum stays, age restrictions or responsible-service conditions.
The safest rule is simple: use the Festival of Thrills page to discover what interests you, then open the specific attraction or offer page before buying anything.
