Update — 12 September 2026: Changi Airport Group’s current campaign offers eligible Singapore Airlines transit passengers one S$10 e-Voucher on a qualifying one-way transit or two S$10 e-Vouchers on a qualifying two-way transit. The campaign applies to eligible journeys completed from 1 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, while stocks last.

If you are transiting through Singapore on Singapore Airlines, check this before you fly. Changi Airport has launched a new transit-voucher campaign that can put S$10 or S$20 towards shopping or food in participating outlets inside the airport’s transit areas.

The offer is useful, but it is not a blanket voucher for every Singapore Airlines passenger. Eligibility turns on where the trip starts, whether Singapore is a genuine transit point, the structure of the itinerary, the operating airline and the timing of the claim. Travellers also need to claim online and upload their ticket or itinerary rather than simply turning up at a counter.

Short version: For the standard online campaign, qualifying travellers beginning an eligible Singapore Airlines transit journey in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United Kingdom or Vietnam can receive S$10 for an eligible one-way transit. A qualifying two-way itinerary can receive two S$10 vouchers. Changi’s campaign page also provides a separate WeChat route for travellers originating in Mainland China. Claims are online only and should be made before or by the day you arrive in Singapore.

01 · What is the Changi Transit e-Voucher campaign?

Changi Airport Group is running the promotion for eligible transit journeys completed between 1 September 2026 and 31 March 2027. Rather than a cash rebate, eligible passengers receive digital Changi Transit e-Vouchers that can be used at participating retail and food-and-beverage outlets in the transit areas of Terminals 1 to 4.

The standard value is simple: one qualifying one-way transit earns one S$10 voucher; an eligible two-way transit earns two S$10 vouchers, for a total of S$20. The two-voucher version is intended for a genuine return-style journey that transits Singapore in both directions and meets the campaign’s origin and itinerary rules.

02 · Who is eligible?

The official terms list standard web eligibility for ticketed Singapore Airlines journeys originating in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. Singapore must be the transit point rather than the final destination, and the full journey must be completed within the campaign period.

Changi says the qualifying itinerary needs to be a continuous transit journey. Travellers cannot combine unrelated bookings simply to make them look like a through transit. The campaign also recognises certain SQ-coded codeshare flights issued on qualifying Singapore Airlines ticket stock, so if your itinerary is a codeshare, check the current official terms rather than assuming it is excluded.

Passengers must be older than two years. The campaign landing page separately points travellers originating in Mainland China to a WeChat Mini Programme; because that claim path is separate, Mainland China passengers should follow the linked China-specific instructions and current terms rather than relying on the standard web checklist.

03 · How the S$10 and S$20 amounts work

For a qualifying one-way transit, the trip needs to begin in one of the eligible origin countries, connect through Singapore and continue to another destination. Changi’s terms give Delhi–Singapore–Auckland as an example that qualifies for one S$10 voucher, while the reverse direction does not qualify under the standard origin rule.

For a qualifying two-way itinerary, the overall journey must start and finish in an eligible origin country and transit through Singapore on both the outbound and return legs. The official terms use Jakarta–Singapore–Auckland–Singapore–Jakarta as an example that qualifies for two S$10 vouchers.

This is why it is worth checking the itinerary rather than just the airline logo. A Singapore transit on one leg does not automatically mean the campaign rules are satisfied.

04 · How to claim before your transit

  1. Confirm the itinerary is eligible. Check the origin, dates, transit pattern and current airline/ticket rules on Changi Airport’s campaign page.
  2. Prepare the e-ticket or itinerary. Changi requires supporting travel documents to validate the claim.
  3. Submit the online collection form. Collection is digital only; no physical voucher is handed out at an airport desk.
  4. Do it in time. The official terms allow collection from the time the ticket is issued up to the day of arrival in Singapore for the eligible trip. Past trips cannot be claimed retrospectively.
  5. Watch your email. After successful validation, Changi says the voucher QR code is normally sent to the supplied email address within one to three business days and can be used from the eligible arrival date.

If several family members are travelling on the same itinerary, the campaign allows an eligible passenger to submit for travelling companions subject to the stated party-size and documentation rules. Do not leave the claim until after the transit has finished.

05 · Where can you spend the voucher?

The voucher is designed for participating merchants inside Changi Airport’s transit areas. That distinction matters: the campaign FAQ says the voucher is not for Jewel Changi Airport or the airport’s public areas. It also cannot be used through iShopChangi.

In practical terms, use it after immigration while you are in transit and check the current participating-merchant list before assuming a particular shop, restaurant or service will accept it. Merchant exclusions and campaign conditions can change, and the voucher is issued in S$10 denominations.

06 · Do not miss the expiry window

The e-Vouchers have a short life. Changi says they expire two days after the eligible passenger’s last departure from Singapore. A traveller whose final Singapore departure is 15 September, for example, would have a voucher expiry at 11:59pm on 17 September under the official example.

Unused value is forfeited after expiry. The terms also say the voucher is not refundable for cash, cannot be exchanged for credit, and no change or compensation is given if the purchase costs less than the voucher value. That makes it sensible to use the full S$10 denomination on a purchase you were going to make anyway.

07 · Why this is especially relevant to Australian and Indonesian travellers

Australia and Indonesia are both on the standard eligible-origin list, making this a particularly practical update for Totally Singapore readers travelling through Changi from those markets. The benefit is modest, but on a long transit it can cover part of a meal, snack, coffee or airport purchase without needing a separate loyalty status.

For Australians connecting through Singapore to Europe or elsewhere in Asia, and Indonesians using Changi as a hub to destinations beyond Singapore, the key is to check that the journey genuinely matches the campaign’s continuous-transit rules. A trip that simply starts or ends in Singapore is not the same thing as a transit itinerary.

08 · What to do before you fly

  • Check the current Changi campaign terms before purchasing around the voucher benefit; the offer is promotional and while stocks last.
  • Keep a clear PDF or image of every relevant e-ticket or itinerary ready for upload.
  • Submit the claim before travel or no later than the eligible arrival day in Singapore — do not expect to claim for a completed past trip.
  • Allow for the stated one-to-three-business-day validation window rather than relying on an instant email.
  • Remember that redemption is in participating transit-area outlets, not Jewel or the public airport zones.
  • Use the voucher before its short post-departure expiry date.

Sources & verification

This article was checked on 12 September 2026 against Changi Airport Group’s official Changi Transit Privileges campaign page and campaign terms. Those current terms set the campaign period, eligible origins, one-way and two-way voucher values, online collection process, claim timing, redemption limits and expiry rules used above.

Verification note: this is a promotional campaign and Changi says vouchers are available while stocks last. Airline, itinerary and merchant eligibility can be detailed, so use the official campaign page as the final authority for your exact booking before relying on the benefit.
