Totally Singapore is an independent travel guide built around a simple editorial idea: a visitor should be able to research Singapore by question, neighbourhood and practical need rather than wade through generic listicles. The site covers trip planning, transport, places to stay, neighbourhoods, food, culture, attractions and traveller-focused news.
We treat each page as a reference page with a specific job. A visa guide should help you understand where to check the rules and what documents are involved. A neighbourhood guide should explain what the area feels like, who it suits, how to get there and what else nearby is worth combining with it. A food guide should help you order, choose and understand context rather than simply repeat a list of dish names.
Our editorial standard
For facts that can materially affect a trip — immigration, airport procedures, public transport, laws, health requirements, fees or closures — primary sources come first. That generally means Singapore government agencies, Changi Airport, public transport operators, official attractions and other first-party sources. We link to those sources so travellers can confirm the latest position themselves.
Evergreen travel writing still needs judgement. We aim to explain trade-offs, who something is best for, who may not enjoy it, common mistakes and realistic alternatives. Specific usefulness matters more than promotional language or arbitrary page length.
Independence and commercial relationships
The site currently carries no display advertising, affiliate sales blocks or paid placement. Inclusion in a guide is not sold as a ranking. If commercial relationships are introduced in future, they should be disclosed clearly and should not determine editorial conclusions.
Corrections and changeable information
Singapore changes quickly. Transport links open, businesses move, attractions alter operating arrangements and government procedures can change. We therefore distinguish between stable guidance and facts that need a current source. A page should not display a static temperature, exchange rate, opening status or similar value as though it were live.
If you spot an error, a closure, a moved business or an official source that has changed, use the contact page. Corrections are more useful when they include a first-party link or enough detail for the information to be checked.
Languages
Totally Singapore includes English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil pages. Not every English topic currently has a translated counterpart. Language versions should only be treated as equivalents where the page actually exists and is linked through the site’s language annotations.
